This is off a report I wrote for Arizona State University Parking and Transit in regards to the 2008 Football Season.
The new tailgating policy that was implemented at the beginning of the season was well drawn out on paper, but lacked the personnel to enforce it. These policies were put in place to protect the public from unnecessary harm. Enforcing these policies were difficult due to the lack of contracted security and law enforcement. It it difficult for a group of 50-60 contracted security and law enforcement officers to patrol such a large area and enforce these policies. There are many factors contributing to this; patrons do not listen to contracted security, law enforcement feels it is not their duty to enforce these policies and A.S.U. has no set punishment for breaking these policies.
For these policies to have any type of effect, we as a group (ASUAOF, ASUPTS, Tempe PD, Sun Angel Club and Professional Event Management) must come together and agree what we will enforce, to what extent we will enforce it and punishment for not adhering to policies set by Arizona State. Without any type of solution, we will not only frustrate ourselves by not being able to fairly enforce these policies, but also frustrate the patrons that are being told different policies game to game. This needs to be taken care of as soon as possible, while the season is still fresh in our memory.
I focused on not repeating myself and how i started my sentences. With the crowd that this is going to, I needed to be quick and to the point. Many of these people do not have the time to sit down and read a 4 page report as their time is limited. I utilized the http://www.dailywritingtips.com/ site for run on sentences. This site helped me distinguish writing styles from story-telling. It helped me realize I am trying to get a point across, not tell them how the parking went. I also went on http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/ to help with sentence clarity. I know that I have the habit of rambling on and reading about basic writing skills helped me tighten up my paper making it a better read.

This exercise helped me realize that I can still get my point across without being so long winded. There were phrases in the paragraphs that repeated themselves and once I removed them the paragraphs ran smoother and still go the information across.

Deadline #2, HW#3-6 Research
Ive conducted research for personal, professional and educational purposes. All of these research processes have similiarities; the purpose, methods and objectives. All research processes have the same goal, to gain more information and understanding of you're original question. The methods we use to gather this information range from the internet, past experiences/research, public information (library, newspapers, magazines). In this day and age the internet is a very useful tool in gathering information, although we have to be careful on what source we get the information from. Unfortunately not all sources are truthful. The internet can be used to find a great deal on a vacation package to finding what the chief export of Costa Rica is. Past experiences are very helpful, these are very helpful in the event management industry, which I've used to my advantage many of times. Newspapers and magazines are another great way to gather information. Being that there are so many publications out there, its hard not to find the information that you might need. The only difference that I've had when it comes to research is the way you approach the project. If it's something for personal knowledge I tend to be more relaxed and casual about it. If it's for educational or professional purposes I take it more seriously because I want that good grade or have a great presentation for my boss.
When it comes to rhetorical situations, you need to take more into account. You have to realize that you are going to have a wider audience viewing your research. This is why you need to make sure that you are clear and concise in the information that you are trying to relay. I could go on and on about traffic regulations, but how many people are going to know what "Type II" barricades are or "Candlesticks." I would need to simplify this for my audience and keep the terms generic so that they do not get confused in the technical terms.
My writing idiosyncrasies are that I tend to use the same words to start off my sentences and ramble on. I often find myself double-checking my work and being able to cut out a sentence or two to my papers because I repeat myself.

Weekly Time Sheet
After filling in the "Weekly Calendar Sheet" the only thing that is on a regular basis are my classes. My job does not require me to be in the office from 0800 to 1700, which is nice. As long as I stick to my To-Do Lists at work and school, I should have plenty of time to do everything that I need to do. Even at event sites I will have down time to occasionally read and write when needed.
More About Myself
My name is Rene Lopez Bracamonte and I am a 30 yr.-old Mexican-American born and raised in Hayden, AZ (It's one of those towns that if you blink you'll miss it). As far as my personal life goes, I'm not married and don't have any kids, which is unusual for people of my age and race. I am the youngest of two sons, my brother is 33 and lives here in the Valley as well. I have the best parents anyone can ask for. If I start talking about them, I will fill up this whole blog and then some. I love my parents and bro with all my heart and there is nothing I wouldn't do for them.
By looking at me, most people don't think I'm Mexican because I'm about 6'4" 300 lbs. Mexicans usually don't grow this big. I am bilingual, my Nana Monchi and Tata Cornelio taught me growing up because I was at there house everyday after school. I have a great family and I'm very fortunate to be close to both sides of my family.
I love music, I need to have music at all times. I listen to all types of music: Old School, Rap, Mariachi, Tejano, Reggae, Reggaeton, Rock, Salsa, Merengue...pretty much anything except for that hard-core rock. There is nothing like waking up on Sunday morning throwing on some Mariachi's, eating Menudo and having a Pepsi. I like to drink and go out, life is to short to not enjoy yourself. So if I'm not here in town working, I'm usually in Diego, Vegas or South Beach. I can't get enough of the beach.
As far as my professional life, I have been in the event management/promotions industry for over 11 years now. I love it! You are never doing the same thing twice, you get to meet new people at every event and the benefits are great. I am in the process of starting my own consulting business that way I can branch off and do other events in other cities. My goal is to work my ass off and retire in 15 years and move to San Diego. As long as I keep up the hard work and don't get lazy that shouldn't be a problem.
If you are wondering why I am going back to school even though I already have my career, I always promised myself and most importantly my parents I would get my degree. So I am very excited to be back and can't wait to know this degree out. I apologize if I rambled on, but thanks for reading and hope to hear from you guys soon!

Questions, Concerns, Suggestions & Help
This is the first time I have ever done anything like this. I really don't have any questions, suggestions and can't really offer any help. My only concern is that I am coming back to school after 10 years and this is my first class. I guess as long as I do what I need to when I need to, I should be good. Good Luck to Everyone!
